How to add Asset Type?

  • Setting this up allows the checklist to be linked to an Asset Type.
  • A checklist order can be enforced for an Asset Type.
  • Custom fields can be created for an Asset Type.
  • Dynamic Statuses can be created for an Asset Type.

 

Pre- requisites:

  1. Manage Asset Types permission needs to be enabled.
  2. A Checklist needs to be created first.


Step 1:

Click on the Asset Types navigation bar item, found on the left beneath the Job Types navigation bar item.

You will be taken to the below screen.

You can search for an Asset Type by using the search function, as shown below.

Click on the +Asset Type button located at the top left corner.

Step 2:

Fill in the details for the Asset Type.

Enter a name for your Asset Type and select a Risk Level from the drop-down list.

 Select and Add Checklists to be linked to the Asset Type.

Checklist order can be enforced for Checklists that need to be done in a specific order.

Select to enable the checklist order enforcement, as shown below.

Custom Field can be setup if required. Please refer to ‘ How to Add Custom Fields for an Asset Type’ article.

Select an Asset Group from the drop-down list.

Dynamic Status can be setup if required. Please refer to ‘How to Add a Dynamic Status for an Asset Type’ article.

Once you have completed all Asset Type details, simply click the Create Asset Type button to save the Asset Type.
